STRB Restaurant Pick Of The Week: Globe Bar and Cafe
Globe Bar and Cafe is a great little joint in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. It is located at 565 Boylston Street across from Copley Square. This spot offers a place with easy access to the great shopping and sight seeing that Boston offers.
The restaurant has a great vibe and energy. There is a large outdoor patio that is perfect for some people watching and views of the city. Inside the exposed brick and large front windows make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The wait staff is friendly and were able to seat us quickly and had the food out promptly.
The menu has all the basics so there is something that can please even the pickiest of eaters. When ordering drinks make sure to look above the bar at the chalkboard, there is a seasonal cocktail menu offering interesting drinks. The friend I was dining with ordered the Hot Spiked Cider with Jack Daniels Honey. It was the perfect drink to help warm up during the cold winter day. I had the Sangria, and it was so refreshing after being out in the dry air.
For my meal I had the club sandwich with a side of french fries, and my friend ordered the turkey sub.The french fries were salty and warm, just the thing we needed to get us though the rest of our shopping day. They give you a lot of food, so we were able to bring our leftovers home.
If you are staying at one of our Back Bay properties like Newbury St. or Commonwealth Ave. check out Globe Bar and Cafe. It is just a short walk away and near the attractions of the city.
