Student’s in a Pinch

Short Term Rentals Boston provides quality furnished apartment rentals throughout the City of Boston.  Our goal is to work with our clients to secure quality, all-inclusive furnished housing near their schools, jobs, hospitals, friends, and families. Throughout the City of Boston, students in particular are having a difficult time finding suitable housing.   Last semester, we had the pleasure of working with three Northeastern students who were looking for a semester long lease. According to the students we’ve served, the biggest and most common roadblock for student housing is that most landlords require a 12 month lease commitment from tenants.  In this case, we were happy to help this group, by accommodating them in one of our 3 bedroom units located in a lovely neighborhood in the South End. One student wrote a note about her experience:

“As a group of students who needed to find short term housing, this apartment fit our needs perfectly. We did not want to split up or be forced to sign a year long lease and have to worry about subletting, which is when we stumbled upon Short Term Rentals Boston. The apartment is located within a 10 minute walk to campus, and less than a five minute walk to the nearest T-stop. Parking is free and accessible for non-resident cars on the surrounding streets and many great eateries are just down the street, making this a great location for Northeastern students to live. We were pleased with the amenities that came with the apartment such as a fully-loaded kitchen with all necessary appliances and an outdoor patio area with a working grill. If we ever had a problem, management made sure to send someone to fix it at whatever time fit our hectic schedules. Additionally, having the apartment already fully furnished made move in and move out very easy, and made our stay very comfortable. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay with Short Term Rentals Boston as it was cozy, pleasant and very convenient.”

STRB Recommendations: Boston Winery

The Boston Winery is a hidden gem in Dorchester Massachusetts. It is located beside Venezia restaurant in a Civil-War era building. The winery is run by Ralph Bruno and his goal is to “share his knowledge of making superb wine and to teach others how to enjoy this experience.” Every Saturday afternoon the winery is open to tastings and tours. For only $10 you receive 3 tokens that can be exchanged for glasses of wine, and a tour of their facilities.

Boston Winery Door

Tours run every half hour, you can arrive anytime between 1pm and 6pm . The winery is not big so the tour is only about 10 minutes. If your tour guide asks any questions make sure to be the first to answer! The guides hand out extra tokens throughout the tour. They do a great job of explaining their process of creating the wine.  Contrary to popular belief they do not crush the grapes with their feet.

Boston Winery Barrells

The tasting room offers about 5 different wines. I went with a friend so between both of our tokens we tasted them all. Red, white, and sparkling are included in each tasting, chances are they will have a wine for you.  Handmade pizzas are available in the tasting rooms. Make sure to be the first to grab a slice, the pizza is for everyone participating in the tasting.

Boston Winery Drinks

The winery is only a short drive away from many of our properties. If you are staying with us on a Saturday make sure to stop by, and let us know what wine you tasted! I highly recommend the Sparkling Brachetto and The Black Dog Cabernet Sauvignon.

STRB Restaurant Pick Of The Week: Grille 705

While on vacation it isn’t always reasonable to sit down for long meals. Sometimes you need a quick bite to eat before starting your day. That is why we recommend Grille 705. It is a go-to for the locals in the South End. The best characteristic about this restaurant is that the food is affordable. You won’t have the break the bank for a great meal. The location is prime, right on the corner of Massachusetts and Harrison Avenue. Many of our properties in the South End are only a 10 minute walk away. Our office on Washington Street is about 2 blocks away. You can find a couple STRB employees stopping by Grille 705 during our lunch breaks.

Grille 705 Outside

Grille 705 has breakfast served all day long, so if you aren’t an early riser you can still get some pancakes and bacon when you wake up. Their omelets and french toast are any breakfast lovers dream. If you order french toast there are 6 different kinds of toppings to choose from, personally I like the blueberry. As for lunch I tend to go for the chicken wraps and sandwiches, but they also have hamburgers and pasta. Last time I ordered the Ranchero Chicken Wrap with french fries and a side Greek Salad. I was finished in about 15 minutes, the food was great! A cool option they offer is ordering online. So you can go to their website, pick out what you want, pay, and then go pick it up in 15 minutes or less.Grille 705 Chicken Wrap

Grille 705 is one the best diner’s in Boston’s South End. We recommend this spot to our guests because it is affordable and has an eclectic menu. If you are staying at our East Springfield or Concord Square apartments Grille 705 is only a 10 minute walk away. Make sure to look up their hours before you head over, on certain weekends they close at 4pm. Check it out the next time you are in Boston and let us know what you ordered!
