Good physical location but on a noisy street

Owner responded within 2 days, was very accommodating and easy to work with. Property management company quick to send out contract. Brownstone located right on Massachusetts Ave and has about 10 steps to go up to the front door. Once inside small lobby you have to walk down about 15-20 narrow, winding stairs to unit. Unit was extremely clean, kitchen and master bath remodeled. Very spacious and light for a downstairs unit. However, the downstairs and the unit smelled like natural gas and I called the property management company twice and never got a call back. We were a little nervous but what could we do? Bought some air freshener but it smelled like that every day when we returned. Beds are comfortable. Nice stacking washer and dryer in the unit. Wifi is spotty. Keep in mind this unit provides nothing excepts alt, pepper, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cups and utensils, bath towels, one kitchen towel, pump hand soap in each bathroom and dishwashing soap. No shower soap, no washing machine detergent, no spices, no coffee (there is a coffee pot), no sugar, etc. cupboards are completely bare so you must buy everything. It would be nice if they had those dispensers in the showers that had liquid soap/body wash, shampoo and conditioner on the shower wall. There is not even a ledge or having shelf for your stuff in the shower. Master bathroom shower door doesn't close all the way at the bottom so it leaks out onto the floor unless you move the shower head facing the wall. (A bit of a pain) also they should go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts and grab some sugar packets to keep in the house. Had to buy a box of sugar for our 4 days and toss most of it. Neighbors upstairs were rearranging furniture or something at 11:30 at night and agai at 6:30 am. Ugh! Also, there is construction of a big building (looks like an apt. complex or hotel) right behind the building so if you like to sleep in, don't rent this place until it's completed. Monday through Friday they start at 7am with the loud noise. Trucks, tools, man lifts, constant loud beeping of either back up warnings or danger warnings, guys yelling, material being banged around. Wish we has known this was going on. Would have waited to rent it until a later date. If you know all this going in, it's a good place to rent.
Hi Barbara,

Thank you for staying with us. The smell of gas was due to a small gap in the supply line coming in from the street, and it has since been addressed. We've found that many of our guests tend to leave spices which is why we don't provide them. I understand that the moving furniture and construction noise can be an inconvenience but it's something it's largely out of our control. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again soon, perhaps at a time when construction has been completed.

Best Regards,

Beautiful, quiet apartment...perfect location

We rented this unit for my bachelorette weekend. All of the breweries, bars and restaurants we wanted to go to were within a 10 minute uber ride and the closest T station is a couple blocks over. The apartment was super clean and roomy, beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need.
Hi Catie,

Thank you so much for staying with us. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the apartment. We can't wait to have you back!

Best Regards,

We were in Boston for a wedding and needed a place for 6 of us for several days. This unit was everything that we expected and more! The unit is totally updated, clean and spacious. Having 3 bathrooms was a plus! There really is a third bedroom that has room for one adult or one child. There is a sofa bed in the living room if you needed more sleeping space. There is an abundance of storage. The location is great. It was right on 2 bus stops and 6 blocks to walk to the orange line subway(or you could take a bus to the subway). We felt safe walking at night. There are a few places to eat nearby. We ate at Parish's a couple of blocks away. They are known for unique sandwiches. Of course there is a Dunkin Donuts a block away. We found a playground on Newton Ave and Washington a few blocks away for take our grandson to. There was ice cream on the way back from the park. We couldn't have been happier choosing this location!

Great time in the City :-)

The appartement was great - after entering everything you promised by booking could be seen. We are a party of three friends on vacation and loved this appartement. Everything you need is there (we didnt use the kitchen for cooking, because we tried the restaurants nearby or in downtown). The 7/11 had everything for a small dinner and mikes diner was fablulous for breakfast!!! Each of us has her own room, everything was very clean and well prepared for us. We would come back and stay - only it is a 8 hour flight away from home... Even a small problem (user based, not owners issue!) was promptly fixed during a short access to turn on the outside water for spring. I only can recommend the unit and the owner .

A warm and comfortable place. We enjoyed the time we stay in that apartment. It looks decorated recently and Brent answered my question very quickly.

Extremely pleased with the rental. Apt was very clean and we were supplied with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Walking distance to Back Bay and Beacon Hill. MBTA bus stop accross the street, MBTA subway stop less than a 10 minute walk. Close to numerous restaurants, drug store only 2 blocks away.

only concern we had was tv in bedroom was only set up for DVD. Who travels with DVD's. Another tv would have been great since we had kids who wanted to watch kid channels and adults wanted other channels

Very spacious.....3 bus stops less than 1 block away

The Good..... This is a really nice unit. Lots of room to stretch out and relax. Beds were super comfortable. There was so much space....The trip was a girls get a way and we even had a leftover closet! Having two full bathrooms is good but that extra half bath was super. Double sinks in the master bath along with a huge mirror allowed two of us to be in there at the same time. There are three bus stops that are very very close to the apartment. Several places to eat, a bakery and an ice cream shop within walking distance. Walgreens, Dunkin Donuts, 7-11 about a block away. Very economical rates. The Bad..... The neighborhood was ok as long as you didn't cross Mass Ave its ok for the first two or three blocks but after that it becomes very seedy. The private garden patio is not so private but there is a nice gas grill. The wi-fi was very sketchy, worked best during business hours. No possible way is Fenway Park a 20 minute walk-IPhone says its a 34 minute walk You can see steps from the front (of the building) should be prepared for three times that many steps to get "downstairs" to the garden level apartment. You can go out through the back patio but you must use the front door, where the keyless lock is, to enter. .

Very pleased!

We loved the condo. We were three adults, two teenagers and two children and found the condo very spacious and clean. Five blocks on the subway. Great place to come to rest in between activities.

Fantastic accomodations

The apartment is completely renovated with great taste and amenities! It is spacious, quiet and very homey. We loved coming back to it in the evening after a day of visiting Boston. It was well equipped for cooking and we felt very comfortable there. The communication with the agency was perfect: they answered all of my questions amicably and promptly. It was exactly as described and we would stay there again. We stayed with a teenager and aging parent and it worked well for all of us. It was a little away from the city center (but i knew that when i booked) but transportation was just around the corner. The neighborhood was quiet and residential. Finding a grocery store was a little tricky but there was a nice one about a mile away. I would strongly recommend anyone travelling to Boston to stay there if they are interested in a convenient location and a spacious apartment to relax at night. We stayed with a teenager and aging parent and it worked well for us.
